A piece inspired by a song made back in 2018 titled “Firewalker” from my ongoing A Virtual Memory audio-visual art project, this work serves in part as a visual representation of that piece of music. It focuses specifically on the relationship between biological versus socialized time, the natural versus synthetic, sincerity versus superficiality, prehistory versus modernity. Artistically, this was expressed via the juxtaposition of organic and architectural motifs curated through the use of digital collage. The images of the titular firewalker are some of the oldest photographs I’ve taken that are included in my archive (dating back to 2007); adding an element of personal memory to the work.
