Sunflower Garden Dancers
Artist Statement
Most of my paintings are about the human figure, in motion. I use modern dancers as my model, because I love the way their bodies move, stretch, and extend. My work conveys that sense of movement, grace and beauty. This painting came to me in a dream in the early fall when the colors of nature are beginning to change. I wanted the two figures to seem a part of the natural process, emerging from the fall sunflower, with a sort of snappy look. The two figures are neither male nor female. They might be one of each or both of one gender. That is for the viewer to decide.
